What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a psychological condition that affects individuals as a reaction to a certain situation, resulting in unpleasant and uncomfortable feelings such as unease, fear, sadness, hesitation, or panic. Anxiety can have mild or severe effects depending on the situation and the symptoms involved.

Treatment of Anxiety

Anxiety can be easily and effectively treated by following these steps:

  • Practicing meditation and various relaxation activities such as yoga, which have numerous benefits in combating anxiety and fear, promoting mental well-being, treating depression, and improving mood.
  • Getting enough sleep—at least 8 hours at night—as sufficient rest is closely linked to reduced stress and anxiety levels.
  • Avoiding sources or triggers of anxiety.
  • Engaging in regular physical exercise to reduce various mental and physical stressors.
  • Deep breathing, by slowly inhaling through the nose, holding the breath in the lungs, then exhaling—repeating the process 4 or 5 times. This greatly helps in reducing anxiety.
  • Setting daily goals, which helps in managing anxiety levels and maintaining focus on completing tasks.
  • Social interaction and spending time with family, friends, or relatives, which enhances feelings of satisfaction and reduces various fears.
  • Seeking help from a specialist or visiting a doctor when needed.
  • Taking anxiety medication if all other methods fail, but only after consulting a doctor.
